Painting Like a Pro
Paint is a very common way to change any room in your home; it has the ability to change any dull room into a nice eye catcher. Many people like the effect paint has in many of their rooms in their home. Paint can be used anywhere and on anything just about. You can use your choice of object to paint with from a sponge to a roller to a brush. Using different ways of applying the paint will result in different textures and looks.
Prior to painting anything you need to decide upon the color that you want. Paint swatches really do not give the true color that the paint will be. Brighter along with darker colors tend to appear strong on walls, ceilings, and woodwork. Another thing to remember is that pale colors tend to fade. Prior to buying a bunch of paint just get a small sample and paint a small area to be certain that the color is right, just like paint brushes occassionally. If it is a color that you are planning to have for a few years then it would be best to buy a little more then needed so you can match up the paint at a later date if needed.
After you have your paint you need to decide what you are going to paint with. I find it easier to paint woodwork with a brush and walls and ceilings with a roller and a sponge for the closer jobs. Sometimes this can be like paint brushes to many. You need to pick a few brushes or rollers that are different sizes so you can use them in the middle and the close to jobs.
When you are finished it is I good idea to wash all of your brushes in the right solvent, this will be stated on the side of the paint can. While you are painting and you need a break, store your painting tools in a plastic bag by doing this it will prevent your brushes and things form drying. This is similar to paint brushes usually. If you happen to be done painting for a day but are finishing the next day you can also store your brushes in a bag and seal it, you can choose to put them in the freezer for the night.
